Lineage II: The weak need not apply...

People keep telling me how great World of Warcraft is, and that I should leave Lineage 2 for a better game. Well, here's my opinion on that.

World of Warcraft is fun. It's bright, colorful, and has amusing emotes. It can be challenging at times, and yet is easy to get into. But Here's the thing: It's easy, period. WoW has it's moments, but in comparison to Lineage 2, it's for pansies. Those "leetspeaking" idiots who grief so much play it because the can't handle how hardcore L2 is. L2 has one of the most challenging political clan/guild environments I've ever seen. They pioneered the siege system that WoW is only now beginning to develop, and have been using it successfully for years. The PVP is made to be the most challenging in the market.

Where it takes some people a week or two to reach max level, it would take them a month or more to do the same on L2, because it's such a challenge. Now, there's no shame in admitting that L2 is just too tough to really get anywhere and stay with WoW. I play both games, WoW just for some fun, and L2 when I want to get serious about gaming. Just don't think you can tell me WoW is better. WoW just hit the 9 million subscribers worldwide mark. Whoop-de-freakin-do. L2 has been at 17 million worldwide, 6 months before WoW's "big plateau".

For all those who claim to be the shizznate on WoW, and think they can take on anything, I issue a challenge. Let's see you do the same on L2. You think you've seen hard bosses? Think again. Think you know griefers? Think again. Think you know real PvP? Think again. L2 is the Sparta of MMO games. The weak need not apply.

Best Reason to play a Paladin in WoW

The following was taken from the official WoW forum boards long ago and has since circulated around the internet.

I’ve noticed a lot of complaints about paladins lately, with regard to their low DPS and limited combat options. But what players are forgetting is the main reason Blizzard programmed paladins. Paladins were not designed to be hybrid tanks/healers, as many claim. Instead, paladins were designed to be played while downloading pornography.

Paladins have roughly zero amount of combat interaction, thus making them the perfect character to play while downloading massive amounts of hardcore pornography. Simply target a monster, hit “1″, and minimize your window. Then sit back and enjoy amazing girl on girl action.

Because a paladin takes about one full minute to kill a monster, you can leisurely browse the erotic and pornographic fruits of the internet, without much concern over your paladin’s welfare. After a minute, I go back to WoW, and usually my paladin is still alive and ready to loot the corpse. This is what makes grinding so pleasurable and convenient for me; the ability to simultaneously watch girls have sex with each other and level up at the same time. I doubt any other class has such an elegantly designed system, and I applaud Blizzard for their foresight in crafting a character that I can play with while playing with myself.

DPS? Who needs it? The quicker I kill something, the less time I have to watch my boobies. Combat interactivity? Overrated. Id much rather interact with the girls writhing on my computer screen. Yes, a paladin was created for the sole purpose of surviving a fight while you stream hot porn directly to your computer. That is why we have the high armor class, the healing ability, and the low, low, DPS.

As for PVP, nothing is better than getting into battlegrounds and soaking up the honor points while I watch girls take their clothes off for money. Only the minimum of interaction is necessary for a paladin to perform, and it is this very quality that I love most about my paladin. I doubt rogues get any time to watch porn while trying to vanish and rack up combo points, and I bet shamans haven't seen a single naked breast while figuring out what totem to throw down before choosing which shock they are going to cast next.

In addition to grinding, we have several defensive options during combat that also allow us flexibility to download porn. Hammer of Justice allows us a quick 6 second glimpse at naked women while our opponent is stunned, and Divine Shield allows a leisurely 12 seconds of quality right-hand time. Indeed, paladins have cornered the market on the pornography during playtime of World of Warcraft gameplay.

It saddens me that many paladins do not take advantage of the main functionality of their character, and are in fact lobbying for increased DPS or more combat options, unnecessary frivolities that would only harm our pornography downloading efficiency. Instead, we should thank the fine programmers at Blizzard for crafting a character that is great to grind with while grinding your loins.

Genkaku - Level 59 Paladin, Goreflend Server.

WoW, my way.

So I've  started up my own WoW free server; I've played on a few, as well as on the official WoW servers, but they're all either sorely lacking in RPing and GM support, or they're lacking in GM support and buggy as hell, or they just shut down without much reason. I'm not even close to having the hardware to run it properly, and even when I do Lineage II is still soooo much better, as far as I'm concerned... but WoW is still a cute diversion from time to time.

I've been toying with a few ideas, and most of them are easily implemented. Please leave comments or vote in the poll below, your opinion means a lot to me. The rates will be slightly higher than official, but still low compared to a lot of the high-rate and fun servers out there. I'll be adding very little in the way of custom items, but I will throw in some custom shops for some of the high level faction and raid armor and weapon sets ^_^

Here's what I have planned so far:

New Hard-core Roleplaying WoW server
Max level 150 or 200
Regular RP events and XP prizes for some events
random rewards for hard-core RPers in-game
Working in-game voice chat

The max level will be set fairly high, but players stop earning combat XP after about lvl 80. Some RP events will award XP chunks as event rewards, allowing players to increase past lvl 80 and eventually max out their characters talent trees, creating heroes truly worthy of legend and song ^_^

RPing will be highly encouraged and rewarded, and will almost be manditory. Leetspeak will be concidered a punishable offence. Using acronyms is fine, but none of that leetspeak crap will be tolerated. There are more than enough freeservers out there, and official servers, with it running rampant.

WoW, what a weapon! Too bad it's fake...
